Oak scratching post

Used as stairs to the windowsill. Never as a scratching post.

What actually happened

A metre and a half tall, sisal around the trunk, two platforms in real oak. We picked the expensive one because it had to fit the living room. Boble still scratches the sofa arm, but he does jump to the top platform to watch birds.
